The Tree of Life

The baobab fruit is an extraordinary fruit with remarkable
qualities. It is no surprise that it should come from an equally
remarkable tree.

Known as ‘The Tree of Life’ or ‘Upside Down Tree’, the baobab is
an icon of the African Savannah. It is a symbol of life and
positivity in a landscape where very little else can thrive.

The Heart of Traditional Remedies

The baobab tree grows wild in thirty-two different countries across the continent and is at the heart of many traditional remedies and folklore. Trees can grow for up to five thousand years; one of the oldest living things on our planet.

Life All Year Round

What is most extraordinary is the way that the baobab has evolved. By storing water in their trunks during the rainy season, baobab trees are able to produce fruit later on in the year, when everything around them is dry and barren. It is easy to see why the baobab is often referred to as ‘The Tree of Life’.
